During the recent years, sustainable fashion has become a concern for numerous designers and brands worldwide, as modern consumers’ awareness and desire for sustainable fashion products increase. Owing to this several luxury brands have joined the green initiative, one of which includes the brand Gucci. Yes, luxury brand Gucci takes a new approach to fashion, it’s going green.
Gucci unveils:
“Sustainable Soles”
This is a line of biodegradable footwear —a sneaker for men and a ballet flat for women —that maintains the balance between the timeless values of style and quality synonymous with Gucci, and the ever-growing green vision.
Eco-Friendly Eyewear
Together with Safilo (an eyewear manufacturer), Gucci created a range of optical frames made from sustainable materials, that include castor seeds and an acetate containing a higher percentage of natural materials.

It’s been confirmed that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ 18 year old son, Justin Combs, will receive a full athletic scholarship ($54,000) to play football at UCLA beginning this fall. But the big questions is whether the school’s money should be used to fund the education of the son of a man worth $475 million, or if it should be returned to help fund the education of other students in need. Unfortunately, there has been some argument regarding the issue, where some feel as though he shouldn’t be awarded the scholarship due to his “rich kid” status. Honestly folks, Justin put in lots of hard work to land his scholarship and is well deserving of it.

Memorial Day weekend was definitely and eventful one… All puns intended… On sunday I had the pleasure of catching up with Jasmine of TheJasmineBrand.com and Niki of Vibe Vixen for their co-hosted “Be Your Own Boss” Happy Hour. It was also hosted by Vic Jagger. Music was provided by the wonderful DJ Heat (The go to female deejay in D.C …. #imjustsayin). and the drinks were flowing brought to you by Qream.
Overall the event had a real chill vibe, unlike many industry events I am use to going to. It was more like a group of friends reconnecting!!! So true to Jasmine’s personality…. She is beyond down to earth and fun! DJ Heat got people moving with the music and even threw the wobble into the mix… HEYYYYY!!!! (Sidenote: I did not jump in on that because I have no idea how to do the wobble… lls.. guess I need to learn!)
