Can You See His Halo??
As a black woman I feel like more often than not our race participates in bashing the black male for all that he is not. But what about all those great brothers who offer everything that we want. Perfection is out of the questions of course but what about those who come darn close. I wanted to take the time out to state, ” I see you”. Though I have not come across more great men than not so much I still appreciate that they are out there. Sometimes it’s hard for us as woman to move on from being hurt, scorned or damaged whether its from a boyfriend, father, husband or simple guy friend. We drag our baggage from the previous man on to the next and never really take the time to notice the cycle. This horrible cycle dooms us to overlook the great and point out the bad. I should know, I’ve done it.
Once released this song gave me so much hope for love and life. At the time, I loved (lol and still do) my guy best friend and this song was so befitting of him.
I’m excited that even with the many woman empowering and male bashing songs out there we still have a few that celebrate our men. So my question to you is
“Can you see his Halo?”
The guy that is awesome in your life, do you notice and appreciate how wonderful he is. Are you grateful for all you do have in him instead of upset at what you don’t. This is something we must learn ladies and we must do it quickly! Raise our men back to the head of home, love and life where they belong. You will love how it makes you feel!
